My Beloved Darling Sweetheart:
This has been a day which has been filled from the early morning. I don’t know when I’ve ever been so glad to see daylight. Last night was a horrible one in more ways than one. I spent the most part of the day with the men of our unit who were injured last night. I talked to many of the men just before they went to surgery. Things are always happening so fast you cannot have time to think or anything else.
I had a service this morning for some of the men. We gathered in a fairly secure place. And sang one verse of the “Onward Christian Soldiers” and the first and last verses of “The Old Rugged Cross”. I led them in prayer and had a short message.
Darling, it is so dark I can hardly see so I must close for tonight. God bless you my Dearest. Give the folks my love.
Yours forever I am in the love
Of Christ Jesus
P.S. Enclosed find a letter from Hollys-Please file with others. Also one from Paul.
